Εκτός από αυτά και άλλοι ενισχυτές σαν τον mesa roadking, τον μεγάλο της hughes n kettner (και διάφοροι άλλοι), τα έχουν όλα αυτά (και τα 4 ανεξάρτητα εντελώς μεταξύ τους κανάλια και τις κουλές υποδοχές και τα μιντια τους και τα "πρισετ" τους) οπότε το μόνο που έχει ο συγκεκριμένος, είναι το όνομα του κατασκευαστή του, όπου εκεί ποντάρει να κάνει την διαφορά.

Μάλλον δεν έχεις καταλάβει την διαφορά.. αντί να έχεις (όπως π.χ. ο roadking) 4 ανεξάρτητα σε χειρισμό, αλλά εξαρτημένα σε ήχο κανάλια, με τον revelation θα έχεις 4 κανάλια ανεξάρτητα και σε χειρισμό και σε ήχο που για να καταλάβουμε περίπου την χροιά τους ο Michael Ibrahim αναγκάστηκε να τα περιγράψει κατά προσέγγιση κάπως έτσι:

For the preamp, i wanted to do something very different to the standard paradigm of clean, OD, high gain channels. I also wanted an amp that sounded and felt like a whole bunch of amps. This lead to the idea of designing each individual channel to follow the design philosophy of a particular family of amps. This design 'philosophy' was then extended to various gain levels. So you can almost think of each channel as a 3 channel amp in itself, where each of the 3 modes (low, mid and high gain) are a natural extension of each other.

 

Channel 1 is definitely Fender in heritage. It's defining feature is the position and design of the tone stack (straight after V1). There's an interesting group of amps which are built off this topology, like the Mesa mark series and the Dumble amps. Their main tonal characteristic their ability to change the feel of the OD by varying the tone controls. This is what the Revelation's Channel 1 does in the high gain mode.

 

Channel 2 is more Marshall in character. For the clean, think the '45. There are no strange humps in the frequency response. For the higher gain modes, as opposed to following through into 'modern' territory, I kept things fairly vintage in vibe. The Mid and High gain sounds are really fat and spongy. The Mid gain mode, in particular is very reminicent of the Crunch Channel on the X88R.

 

Channel 3 is meant to capture the sound of hotrodded Marshalls, in the vein on Splawn, Bogner, Jackson etc. The clean is very tight, the mid gain is like a supped up 800, and the high gain is just gorgeous and woody.

 

Channel 4 is can be thought of as belonging to the group of modern "US" amps (and US voiced), like Soldanos, Rectos etc. From a technical persepective, these amps do something interesting with their channel's frequency response. They have a decent low end response, lot so low/mid and mids, then very attenuated top end (all 'before' the OD). This makes them sound very grunty in high gain settings. Projecting this back to the low gain, Channel 4's clean mode is a very dark 'jazz' tone. The mid gain is a very boomy fat crunch, and the high gain is,... well,.... what you'd expect. I've voiced this channel a little bit tighter than these US amps, after having had the pleasure of playing a VH4 last year in the US, and being blown away by the tight delivery of that amp's gain.

The final detail on the preamp is high mode gain trim. I personally think the amp has more gain than anyone should need, but I know that there will always be people out there who want more. So I built in a 'hot-rod' into the high gain mode. This control is located on the back of the amp. With this knob you can add another 20db of gain to the high gain modes of all 4 channels,.... for those who need that extra push over the cliff,...

 

 

Άρα μιλάμε για 4 κανάλια με διαφορετικό τελείως σχεδιασμό που το καθένα λειτουργεί σαν ξεχωριστός 3 κάναλος ενισχυτής!! δεν νομίζω να το έχεις ξαναδεί κι αυτό... ;)

Λάθος. Και ο roadking το ίδιο κάνει. Έχει εντελώς άλλα κανάλια μεταξύ τους και μάλιστα με παρόμοια χαρακτηριστικά (φεντερ, μαρσαλ, μπουγκι και χαιγκειν), μέσω πατενταρισμένου κυκλώματος που κάτι αλλάζει στη διαδρομή του σήματος ώστε να πλησιάζει όσο γίνεται τους ενισχυτές που "προσομοιώνει". Έτσι είναι το ίδιο και το αυτό. Και άλλοι πέραν αυτών των 2 το έχουν. Μάλιστα η ρανταλ έβγαλε σειρά, η οποία δέχεται πλακέτες με προενισχυτικές λάμπες στην κεφαλή, η καθεμιά εκ των οποίων προσομοιώνει πασίγνωστους ενισχυτές. Έτσι έχεις λαμπάτο simulation των ενισχυτών που θες. Έτσι με μια κεφαλή/κομπο, παίρνεις το ηχόχρωμα κάθε ενισχυτή που θες. Αυτό είναι πρωτοτυπία (και μάλιστα έχει ψιλοξεσκιστεί στις βραβεύσεις γιαυτό)!

 

Ο συγκεκριμένος όμως δεν φέρει καμιά πρωτοτυπία. Τον προλάβανε άλλοι. Το θέμα είναι το πόσα πιάνει αυτός, λόγω το βαρύ ονόματος που ομολογουμένως φέρει.

 

Τώρα είδα αυτό:

και επίτρεψέ μου να σου πω ή ότι κάτι κατάλαβες λάθος, ή εγώ κατάλαβα λάθος, ή πρόκειται για την μεγαλύτερη εμπορική αποτυχία που θα υπάρξει, δεδομένου του αν ισχύει αυτό που λες, μιλάμε για 1 θηρίο που ξεπερνά σε διαστάσεις ότι κυκλοφορεί, θα έχει απίστευτο βάρος, τραγικά πολλές λάμπες και φυσικά θα είναι τόσο ακριβό, που θα είναι καταδικασμένο να αποτύχει. Εκτός αν βρεθεί κανείς, τα σκάσει και δεν τον νοιάζει να τον πηγαίνει από μαγαζί σε μαγαζί να παίζει!

 

Απλά αυτό που καταλαβαίνω, με αυτό που λέει στα ξένα, είναι η κλασική σχεδίαση που φέρουν και οι υπόλοιποι ενισχυτές σαν αυτόν. 4 κανάλια με διαφορετικά ηχοχρώματα το καθένα και σε καμιά περίπτωση το καθένα να λειτουργεί ως 3κάναλος ενισχυτής. Άλλωστε δεν το χρειάζεται!

Αυτό είναι πιο αναλυτικό και είναι απ το site:

 

Channel 1 (Green) is inspired by the traditional American preamp designs from 50's and 60's. One of its unique defining characteristics is the position of the tone stack, which is at the beginning of the preamp as opposed to the end. This channel has the lowest gain of all 4 channels, and is aimed more at the vintage side of things:

 

    - Low Gain mode: This is a pristine shimmering clean. It is the most balanced of the clean modes in the Revelation, and LOVES pedals. Depending on how you adjust the powerful EQ and gain control, this mode can produce anything from glassy, 3D tones, to fuller more muscular clean tones.

 

    - Mid Gain mode: This fattens up the original tone, and starts to overdrive gracefully as you pick harder. With the gain cranked, this mode will take you to vintage crunch territory.

 

    - High Gain mode: Not really high gain per-se, but more of a vintage purring blues/lead sound. The unique position of the tone stack means that variations in settings affect the character and response of the overdrive sound.

 

Channel 2 (Yellow) is decidedly British in nature. The mids are a lot more forward, and the position of the tone controls (at the end of the preamp) completely changes the character of this channel, compared to channel 1. This is another channel which we would consider to be 'vintage' voiced.

 

    - Low Gain Mode: A wonderful clean counterpart to Channel 1's low gain mode. The forward mids really accentuate the elastic nature of this channel, and helps to put the guitar more forward in the mix. This mode also loves pedals, and can give your OD pedals a very different sonic 'highlight' compared to Channel 1. It's almost as if you've re-voiced your pedals!

 

    - Mid Gain: This is one of my favourite sounds on the amp. This mode purrs. Lovely, glowing amber tones,… touch sensitive and sonically wide. This is also an awesome mode for creating high gain tones when you run the power amp into overdrive, using one of the lower power modes (the power amp can run as low as 8W if you like)

 

    - High Gain: In order not to overlap with Channel 3's tight precise character, we made sure that this channel's high gain mode was fat and spongy, a beautiful responsive vintage lead sound.

 

Channel 3 (Blue) is what happens when you take Channel 2, and mod it to the max. It's definitely a 'modern' channel. Inspired by the hot-rodded, custom amps of the 80's and 90's, this channel exhibits a tight controlled low end, a precise high end, and huge midrange response for cutting through the mix.

 

    - Low Gain Mode: The tight low end of this channel, when applied to a 'clean' sound results in a very percussive and focused clean, with a lot going on in the mids. It's certainly a very different clean to the previous channels, and makes an awesome funk channel. It's also a great tight channel when the power amp gets cooking, and very decidedly 'brown'

 

    - Mid Gain Mode: It’s also here that the controlled low end of this channel’s architecture starts to pay serious dividends. The response of this channel when overdriven is perhaps the ‘fastest’ found in the Revelation. Also, the note definition is amazing. Complex chords ring true, with wonderful note separation and clarity.

 

    - High Gain Mode: This is high gain lead heaven. Amazing saturation, sustain, definition,… and all delivered with precision. The tone is deep, complex, woody, and blooming. Its top end response is smooth, and stays wonderfully musical regardless of how much gain is used.

 

Channel 4 (Red) is the alter-ego to Channel 3. Also a 'modern' channel, it's everything that Chanel 3 is not. At every stage of the preamplifier circuit, the signal is handled in the opposite way to Channel 3. This creates a sound, which in every mode, is the counterpart of Channel 3. Instead of ‘thin’ and detailed, the Low gain mode is dark and moody. Instead of focused and fast, the Mid gain mode is fat and momentous. Instead of cutting a controlled sonic path, the High gain mode forces its way through with sheer brute power, pushing aside anything in its way.

 

    - Low Gain Mode: This is a surprisingly wonderful clean channel. It's actually great for Jazz, and really helps to tame brighter single-coils.

 

    - Mid Gain Mode: The dark character of the low gain mode gives way to a sharper, more abrasive sound. Remarkably, the huge low end of Channel 4 remains in tact, producing a powerful rhythm guitar sound, with a very wide sonic footprint. Due to the architecture of this channel, and the broad frequency content of the sound, this mode does not lend itself well to subtle and complex chord voicings. But then again, this channel is anything but subtle!

 

    - High Gain Mode: There is nothing tame, polite or civilised here. This is pure aggression. The tone produced takes up a lot of space, and stamps its authority in any setting. This is a sound with a lot going on,… a lot of lows, a lot of mids, and a lot of highs.

 

Αν δεις και τις φώτο στο Site έχει διακόπτη με 3 επιλογές στο κάθε κανάλι (low,mid,high)..

 

Ο ενισχυτής κάνει 3.700 Αυστραλέζικα Δολάρια δηλαδή 2200€!!

 

και είναι στο μέγεθος μιας οποιαδήποτε 50-75 συνηθισμένης κεφαλής!

Καλά το ίδιο πράμα έχουν και οι υπόλοιποι που σου λέω. Σε κάθε κανάλι έχουν και ένα πράμα στο drive που λέγεται boost. Ε αυτό κάνει κάτι παρόμοιο με όσα πιο πάνω λες. Αυτό δεν τον κάνει παρά τπτ άλλο από από 4κάναλο με διπλή ή τριπλή επιλογή στα drives. Και γιαυτό και η τιμή αυτού που λες είναι παραπλήσια σε αυτή των άλλων.

Ε αυτό δεν τους κάνει θα έχουν 4 preamps από 3 κανάλια στο καθένα!

Μην το ψάχνεις έχει ξαναβγεί αυτή η υλοποίηση καμπόσες φορές και γιαυτό δεν έτυχε της τόσο θερμής υποδοχής από τον τύπο όσο οι πρώτες υλοποιήσεις, καθώς και αυτή της ρανταλ (που συζητιόταν από λίγο πρωτού κυκλοφορήσει)

 

Είδωμεν τι θα βγει από αυτόν

 

 

Άσχετο αλλά όσο βλέπω αυτά τα ρυθμιστικά που λες, τόσο ίδια με του mesaboogie είναι!

Ας εξηγηθω για να μην παρεξηγηθω. Συνηθως, ενα πεταλι μολις το ταιριαξεις με την κιθαρα σου + ενισχυτη σου, βγαζει ενα καλο ηχο, αντε δυο, ελαχιστες φορες τρεις. Το CB στα δικα μου αυτια με ελαφρο tweaking βγαζει απολυτα πιστευτους ηχους απο 4 διαφορετικους Marshall (και μαλιστα με την επιπλεον πολυτελεια του τρομερου tone shaping και διαφοροποιησης στον καθενα απο αυτους  που κανει ο διακοπτης!!), και ταιριαζει με οποιαδηποτε κιθαρα κι ενισχυτη το χρησιμοποιησεις. Αυτο το θεωρω κατορθωμα και επιτευγμα του versatility, για να μην αναφερω κιολας οτι δεν εχει καν λαμπα, ειναι χειροποιητο, true bypass και πάμφθηνο. Και εχω κανει συγκρισεις με δεκαδες (ισως εκατονταδες αλλα who's counting) αλλα dist.πεταλια για να ερθω σε αυτα τα συμπερασματα.

Είναι ίσως το λιγότερο ευέλικτο πετάλι του Ibrahim αν το συγκρίνεις με κάποια άλλα δικά του...

Οταν πολλοι κιθαριστες (νεοι η και παλιοι) νιωθουν οτι δεν εχουν εξερευνησει αρκετα τον θαυμασιο κοσμο των guitar effects (dirt ή όχι), εχουν την εντυπωση οτι πρεπει σωνει και καλα να εχουν πενηντα χιλιαδες διαφορετικες επιλογες στα ποδια τους (oπως ακριβως γραφεις οτι θες τεσσερις διαφορετικους ενισχυτες με ενσωματωμενα tubescreamer κλπ...). Οταν ομως βρεθεiς στην πραξη (studio, live, ακομη και practice) θα συνειδητοποιησεις οτι ολα αυτα ειναι παντελως αχρηστα, ποσο μαλλον οταν θα εχεις κατασταλαξει και στον ηχο σου.

 

Καποια στιγμη ειμαι βεβαιος οτι θα καταλαβεις και ο ιδιος οτι τις επιλογες τις ομαδοποιουμε, δεν τις αραδιαζουμε, και οτι ειναι εντελως περιττο να εχεις τα χειριστηρια και τις επιλογες του... Enterprise απο το Star Trek για να εχεις την περιωνυμη και πολυποθητη "ευελιξια". Ποτε ηταν η τελευταια φορα που επαιξες με τα vol, tone της κιθαρας σου, με το feedback και με τα δαχτυλα σου;  ;)

 

Δεν θα μπορούσες να το πεις καλύτερα!!!

Λοιπόν παίδες! μόλις βρήκα αυτό το thread με samples του revelation που ανέβασε ο ίδιος ο Michael σ ένα forum.. δεν είναι και η καλύτερη ποιότητα όπως λέει κι ο ίδιος αλλά είναι αντιπροσωπευτικά.. ;)
